Councilman Gordon selected "Newsmaker of the Year" Burbank Leader, 12/30/06
|
Dear Friends and Supporters
March 12, 2009
I would like to thank all of you who voted for me during the primary election.
Now is the time to use common sense to focus on the essentials. I will continue to demand accountability, insist upon more prudent spending of your tax dollars, and put an
end to tax dollar giveaways. The time to say NO to the old ways of doing things is NOW! At the same time, we must tend to the basics.
We need to fix our streets and upgrade our infrastructure. We need to take a new look at affordable housing for BURBANK
citizens, especially for our seniors. Also, if there was ever a time to preserve our city's outstanding safety
services, it's now.
As the general election draws near, I would invite you to consider my many years of diverse experience serving the people of Burbank. You may not be aware that my community involvement began
working at the grass roots level for neighborhood protection and business revitalization in Magnolia Park. I served four years on Burbank's Planning Board. While serving on the Planning Board,
I was also honored to represent Burbank for two years on the Administrative Services Committee of the League of California Cities. For the past three years I have had the privilege
of serving on Burbank's City Council
I plan to call upon my diverse experience working directly with people at the neighborhood, city, and state levels to understand and find solutions to the important
issues facing us today. The experience I have gained living and working in Burbank over the last three decades has prepared me to understand and be responsive
to the issues and concerns confronting our residents and local businesses today and in the years to come.
To volunteer to support my re-election campaign please e-mail me at david_gordon@pacbell.net or call me at (818) 842-2111. There is also a volunteer form on this site.
Your support is always welcome, needed, and very much appreciated. No contribution is too small. Together we will go on to win on election day, April 14. I renew my promise to you to continue
to bring common sense to our local government and to work extra hard to always put the people first.
Sincerely,
David Gordon
